Lights for Sauna

Lighting in a sauna must tolerate temperatures up to 250'F and be rated by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for "Wet Location". This means it can be used outdoors as well as in showers.

P5511:
Standard sauna light from our supply of sauna accessories. Vapor proof wall light with glass globe
Pictures to the right are from a custom Precut installation where the lighting used was low-voltage around the ceiling perimeter. Strips were installed on top of the paneling and furring strips (walls were furred out with 1x4's) and then covered with site-made skirt boards and crown molding. Each bulb is 5 watts and automotive grade. Lightstrips are made by Alexandra Lighting of Colorado Springs for Springs Sauna Company. Part number for lighting is SS246-series.
To use this lighting, furring the walls before paneling required as is access to the space above the sauna. To run lighting over the door as shown a ceiling height of 7'-6" is required.
It is not recommended to use this lighting in a commercial sauna that is on for most of the day.
